Here's a link to a site offering wholesale prices for rough diamonds. The prices are U.S. dollars at the seller's offices in Antwerp. Note the list includes "yellow" stones, but no fancies. If I read the chart correctly, a 1 (4/4) carat crystal-shape stone grading VVS or better with a G+ color rating is $550; otherwise similar yellows are $300, and browns $120. Of course, this is the wholesaler's price and not what the miner gets. As noted on the home page, this company buys what they are offered. They have no say in the price - take it or leave it. So, their costs are not market oriented, but their prices to their clients are. It is, therefore, difficult to estimate what the mark up might represent at this level. It might not be much with this firm as they also do cutting and polishing, which is "where the money is." Note also, FWIW, that they offer polished for 25% below New York wholesale prices. Looks like a good place to buy stones if you want to travel to Antwerp.
