Last one was TXN wanted to buy a piece of the PALM OS. But Apple wants a bite too. Sony, Nokia, any big company with their eye on the hand-held future

That's the biggest load of c**p I've read on this thread today.

The TXN deal was a favor to PALM to save PALM some cash, ie essentially equity for future accounts payable, not to mention TXN is already in bed Big Time with Nokia.

Apple has said on innumerable occassions it doesn't have the slightest interest in PALM and has started adding PIM functions to the iPods that are already 100 times cooler than any existing PalmPilot.

Sony isn't going to buy PALM because they're already kicking PALM's a** and every single Sony device is better than all of PALM's devices put together, not to mention they've got Pocket PCs on the backburner as a negotiating tool to get the license fees down.

And Nokia doesn't need PALM because they fully realize it is handsets that rule the universe and that ain't gonna change in our lifetime.

You're right about one thing, though: being marginable is significant. It makes the stock easily shortable again.
