My review of the matter would be that this is "Sharon's War"

Arafat was almost forgotten until Sharon gave him elevated status by declaring war on him and the Palestineans.

I have seen in newspapers from outside the US where Israel is being called the gestapo of the middle east. But the reality is that more civilian Palestineans are being killed than are combatants against Israel. Added to this are the restrictions placed on the foreign press that are trying to report on Israeli actions in Palestine. Israel is getting some nasty press world wide.

Whem the Palestineans attach the Israeli's they are called terrorists....but that is not at all true...The Palestineans are defending what they perceive to be their homeland. Israel is the military force that is in occupation of their land.

The New York Times has had a number of very unflattering reviews of Sharon and the Israeli actions in Palestine. I will not post the links here because many of you dislike the NYT's as much as you dislike Arafat.

Arafat and Sharon are two peas from the same pod. They are both murderers and both should be tried for war crimes. Both have killed more innocent civilians than they have enemy forces. The major difference is that Sharon is winning this war and will probably outlive Arafat, and so he will get the last word.
