PALM has strong new products, the new 7 series is already the #7 largest seller in the world even though it carries a top-line price-tag and is brand new. The 5 series is the #1 seller in the world. Two other models are also in the top ten. Four of the top ten largest selling models. Almost 50% of the world market. A new operating system too which is being licenced and incorporated into many top-name products. Compatability with the PALM OS is becoming mandatory for many related appliances. But the biggest deals may be yet to come. Meanwhile inventory of the old models has been burned off. They sold them cheap but they sold them, all of them.

(Nasdaq: PALM - news) has further strengthened its leadership position in the European handheld computing market. The results place Palm firmly in the lead with 42.5 percent of the handheld device market (as measured by units) for December/January 2002 -- 30.8 points ahead of its nearest competitor. These results show an increase in market share of 5.4 points on the previous period of October/November 2001 and growth of 2.6 points on the same period a year ago.
