MONTREAL: Friday, April 5, 2002 — Pingat Ingénierie, a French subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin, has acquired Société Boplan, an engineering firm with about 100 employees based in five sites in western France.
With 350 employees and total revenues of approximately 45 million euros, the new entity resulting from this acquisition becomes a European leader in agrifood engineering, as well as a key player in industrial engineering located in close proximity to clients' locations.
This transaction was made possible by SNC-Lavalin, a world leader in engineering-construction through its acquisition of the capital stock of Société Boplan.
"SNC-Lavalin continues to expand in France, and will also enable Pingat and Boplan to maintain their growth and development strategy," said Krish Krishnamoorty, Executive Vice-President of SNC-Lavalin. "Jean-Claude Pingat, President and General Manager of Pingat Ingénierie will be president of the new entity, SNC-Lavalin France, which will be formed as a result of the acquisition."
"This acquisition is in line with the strategies of each of the companies involved and reflects their common objectives - development and broadening of their core competencies, increased scale of operations and improved geographic coverage," added Jean-Claude Pingat. "Jacques Bodreau, President and General Manager of Société Boplan, will be vice-president of the new entity."
Boplan's fields of expertise are very complementary to those of Pingat, and focus on the agrifood, industrial, tertiary, logistics and retail sectors.
