Stanford University Invites Hypertension Diagnostics to Demonstrate CVProfilor(R) System at Cardiovascular Nutrition Conference

ST. PAUL, Minn., April 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hypertension Diagnostics, Inc. (Nasdaq: HDII - news), announced today that it has been invited by Stanford University School of Medicine to exhibit at the 1st Bay Area Conference on "Controversies in Cardiovascular Nutrition" being held on Saturday, May 4, 2002 at the Stanford University School of Medicine. The conference is co-sponsored by Stanford University and the American College of Nutrition, and has been organized by renowned opinion leaders in the arena of cardiovascular nutrition. The conference is a one-day event and approximately 300 attendees are expected, including leaders in the fields of nutrition and cardiovascular medicine from top institutions across the country.

Greg H. Guettler, President of Hypertension Diagnostics, said: "We are looking forward to introducing our CVProfilor® DO-2020 System technology to physicians, other health care professionals and opinion leaders who specialize in cardiovascular nutrition by providing personal CVProfile(TM) tests to all attendees. Medical research suggests that factors such as diet, weight and level of physical activity may play a significant role in the development of cardiovascular disease. Similarly, the same interventions used to prevent cardiovascular disease are also effective in treating it. Nutrition appears to be one of many contributors to structural abnormalities of the arterial wall (that is, the endothelium) which precede atherosclerosis (that is hardening of the arteries) and cardiovascular events. The CVProfilor® DO-2020 System offers a means to assess one's vascular health (including endothelial function) by providing a painless, non-invasive measurement of both large and small artery elasticity."
