The tone in pre-market trade remains positive with the S&P 500 futures 3.6 points above fair value, the Nasdaq 100 futures are 12.5 points above fair value while the Nasdaq 100 PMI is up 9.32 points. CSCO gains have underpinned the tech arena (favorable comments from the Street) but there have also been some positive developments from retail (TOM upgraded, S raised profit outlook) and biotech (DNA upgraded). Negative news has been noted for RIMM (warned last night and downgraded today), SEBL (reports of estimate cuts) and recent high flyer WEN (downgraded based on valuation). Crude oil is firmer despite reports of higher than expected inventory levels amid continued violence in the Mid-East.
