Keep spinning Carl, and maybe the checks will continue <G>.

I know it's frustrating when one McGeek article can undo weeks of work, but we know you can bounce back.

Anyway, what the article *actually* said is that there will be Rambus chipsets for the next generation of Intel CPUs, codenamed Prescott. Right now, the roadmaps Mike saw color code them as continuations of the i850 chipset "family," but they will not be called the i850. Strange that Springdale, a chipset, can have RDRAM support--I thought that was a DDR chipset?

And of course, Carl, there are other differences between the i850 and the i850E than the southbridge. Like official support for a 533Mhz FSB. How could you have overlooked that? It enables the i850 to use the *new* versions of the P-4 Northwood that are hitting the streets soon--you know, the ones with lower multipliers designed to work with a faster FSB? This ensures a market for PC1066 RDRAM, in the RIMM4200 packaging.
