Mike...from the Civil Rights Group in Israel....

"The Association for Civil Rights in Israel said dozens of bodies of Palestinians were piled in the streets of Jenin camp, and residents were prevented from getting food and water. The Israeli organization complained to the Defense Ministry that the military has committed serious human rights violations in the camp, including the demolition of homes with residents still inside. There was no immediate response from the Defense Ministry. "

This does sound like gestapo tactics to me....punush the whole area because a sniper was thought to be from an area.

IF you use Sharon's logic.......then after Sept 11 we should have gone on the rampage in Saudi Arabia, because that is where most of the attackers came from.... Saudi Arabia was the home of most of the terrorists.

Jacobs post makes one bad assumption....that there would be another million Jewish immigrants to the West Bank....That is very unlikely. How many American Presidents have warned Israel about the West bank settlements and tried to discourage them???

The NYT's in an editorial said a possible solution would be to get rid of Sharon and Arafat at the same time. I think that Sharon will be the first Israeli PM to be kicked out of office by American Public Opinion.

Did you see on TV the Jewish demonstrators at Berkely, demonstrating against Israel last night? This was unthinkable in times past.

Added to all of these problems is that Bush does not have a foreign policy of any sort for the ME. His idea that there will be negotiations after the shooting stops is rubbish. Roosevelt, Nixon and Kennedy fully understood the importance of a well defined foreign policy. Bush must be a slow learner.
