MarketXT begins trade on Nasdaq InterMarket
Tue Apr 9, 1:48 PM ET

NEW YORK - The Nasdaq Stock Market said Tuesday that MarketXT Inc. has begun trading securities listed on the New York Stock Exchange (news - web sites) and the American Stock Exchange through the Nasdaq InterMarket.

MarketXT is the second Electronic Communications Network to link to the National Market System through Nasdaq InterMarket. The first was Archipelago, which linked to the market in 2000.

Investors and traders using MarketXT are now able to set the inside quote in exchange-listed securities, as they have been able to do with Nasdaq stocks since 1997.

Nasdaq InterMarket comprises Nasdaq market participants, such as Market Makers and ECNs, which quote and trade exchange-listed securities.

MarketXT is a wholly owned subsidiary of New York-based day-trading firm Tradescape Corp
