as I pointed out in another post, no matter how bad Stalin was, there was no illiance between Hitler and Russia. Recently released "NKVD" (old KGB name) showed that Russia viewed the war with Hitler unavoidable. The mistake was that they thought that peace treaty bought them few more years to rearm from outdated weapons to t34, yaks, la short range bombers.
There was also no deal offered by illies. Russia was invaded by Germans and alliance was formed between US, UK and Russia.
