Duke of URL,
It is so easy to tape a voice mail that all those firewalls mean nothing. Large companies also share voice mail and email with large clients. I always viewed voice mail and e mail as different forms of paper documents. Paper documents have a way of being xeroxed and shared. Voice mail being taped or forwarded, or e mail being printed or forwarded is the same thing as xeroxing a paper document.

Employees were often warned about using the Internet during working hours. Employers have the right to monitor their computers and dismiss them for doing so. E mail is for business and that is also monitored. So do employers monitor voice mail? If so, the security monitor could have been the deep throat. All those firewalls and systems are run by people.
