MicroProse Names John C. Leonhardt Vice President of Licensing
ALAMEDA, Calif., July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Interactive entertainment software publisher Spectrum HoloByte, Inc. (Nasdaq-NNM:SBYT) announced today the appointment of John C. Leonhardt as Vice President of Licensing.
Leonhardt, 32, will be responsible for worldwide licensing programs for the company. Leonhardt's chief responsibilities include the identification and licensing of entertainment properties for game development, the expansion of broad-based licensing programs for proprietary MicroProse(R) content, the sub-licensing of the MicroProse product line across multiple gaming platforms, and the establishment and maintenance of relationships with entertainment partners.
Leonhardt joins the company from Sega of America, where he was Director of Licensing and Character Development responsible for entertainment, sports and branded properties. Acquisitions at Sega included Batman Forever, Garfield, Congo, Berenstein Bears, Lion King and Major League Baseball, NFL, NBA and NHL. Prior to that, Leonhardt was Director of Business/Creative Development with MCA Universal Family Entertainment where he secured Back to the Future (Animated), An American Tail (Animated), Shelly Duvall's Bedtime Stories and Exosquad properties. Leonhardt holds a BA in Economics and Business from UCLA.
