I'm not optimistic as a general plan. I'm optimistic about the market, because that is my read on it. We are in the middle of a cyclical bull market, by my read. I was just as pessimistic in 1999 and 2000 as I am optimistic now. Ask Mr. Shread or anyone else that has known me for several yrs. There have been many doubters during this initial bullish phase- in fact, probably almost as many as there were when I was ULTRA bearish. So far the market has continued to support my optimism. Well, except for the telecoms. But they won't diverge forever.. I continue to hold to the belief that shorting in a cyclical bull market is pure folly. So you won't see me advocating that strategy for some time yet. Rukeyser is an egomaniacal hazard, IMO. PBS did the world a favor by axing his lame arse. I wouldn't pay much attention to anything he has to say. <ng> Gambling is right- but life is a gamble. Driving home from work is a gamble- probably the biggest one I take on a daily basis. See ya- I've got to go do some road gambling. <g> TW
