The moment of silence is to remember the murder of 6 million Jews in WW2. It has nothing to do with "reminding the world owes us" as you say. Its to remember people who were shivering naked before being machined gunned into pits, or childrens souls who went out the chimney. There are no graves for those murdered, and a moment of silence to remember them is appropriate for relatives who received no burial, albeit by bullet, gas, or worse. What you said is a disgusting twist of a deep moment of sorrow.
