Alex:

Let me start by asking you a question:

If Barnes and Noble had the exact same book you wanted for sale online for less than Amazon where would you buy it?

At current prices Amazon is approximately half the value of Barnes & Noble.

Barnes & Noble has been in business for 124 years
Barnes & Noble is the largest book seller on Earth
Barnes & Noble had sales last year of $2,540,000,000.00
Barnes & Noble had profits last year of $52,800,000.00
Barnes & Noble pays less for books
Barnes & Noble has more brand recognition
Barnes & Noble can crush Amazon.COM

Amazon is expected to lose $50+ million over the next two years
Amazon only has $49 million
Amazon has no proven track record
Insiders can sell stock in 120 days
Margins in book selling are razor thin

If Amazon had margins of 2% they would need to sell $950 million worth of books just to break even on the AOL deal alone.

Let me end with a question:

Is there any reason you can find why Barnes & Noble and Borders can not crush Amazon.

Lastly, has anyone heard any word on book selling alliance between Microsoft and Walmart?

Let me hear from you.
