Oh, Excuse me- let me point out that in 1967. When Nasser was in power in Egypt he closed
the straits of Tiraan and order the UN observers to leave the Gaza Strip area. The UN meekly complie
complied. Doubtless you applaud the acquiencence of the Check people who were the first
sacrificial lambs of the european countries who thought the appeasement of Hitler was the way to go
go. The comments you quoted were a response to the reality of the situation- The arabs have
from prior to 1948 carried out many events of violence against the local jewish population
including massacres of jewish talmudic scholars in Hebron and desecration of countless jewish
cemetaries.
I am sure that many find that the repression in the west bank to be horrible and a violation of
human rights-
However- if an Indian reservation suddenly started to clamor for independence from the United
States and sent out suicide bomber to blow up restaurants and political targets. How long would
it take for the United States to embark on door to door searches by armed military personnel andd
more. Also bear in mind that we are not talking about a few thousand people but a few million.

I am also sure that 95% of the arab residents of the west bank are not prone to
violent hatred of jews. I am also sure that it was the same in Nazi Germany. But I am still waiting
to hear the current silent majority condemn acts of terrorism. If not, then to allow an independent
Palestinian state to happen under Arafat is like inviting Nazi Germany to be a neighbor.
