Microsoft Crowns Loudcloud With Gold in New Application Infrastructure Provider - AIP - Certification Program; Loudcloud Meets Demanding Microsoft Standards Certifying Its Managed Services on the Microsoft Platform

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2002--Loudcloud (Nasdaq:LDCL) today announced that it has earned Gold Certification under Microsoft's new Application Infrastructure Provider (AIP) program. By integrating support for Microsoft's technologies into Loudcloud's proprietary Opsware(TM) automation technology, Loudcloud's enterprise customers will be able to leverage Microsoft's advanced infrastructure products within Loudcloud's automated hosting environment. The program is designed specifically for companies delivering a full set of infrastructure services including managed web hosting, managed web applications, and .NET services for service providers and end-users.

"Certification on Microsoft's platform demonstrates Loudcloud's commitment to providing its customers with more options, greater flexibility, and above all, the expertise to leverage these products in a secure, automated hosting environment," said Carolyn Cox, director of Partner Marketing at Loudcloud. "Many of our enterprise customers are interested in taking full advantage of the .NET platform and this certification will provide them with the assurance that as Microsoft technologies evolve, Loudcloud will provide the operational excellence to support them."

By incorporating support for the new Microsoft technologies into Loudcloud's Opsware technology, Loudcloud can quickly provision, scale, and manage Microsoft's .NET Enterprise Servers on behalf of customers. Loudcloud's Opsware technology is designed to help enhance the reliability, overall quality and performance of a customer's Internet site. In addition to the Opsware provisioning and change management capabilities, Opsware technology quickly and consistently deploys "patches" and revisions, typically required to maintain site security as technology evolves. Opsware automation technology also maintains a complete blueprint of each customer's site so critical assets are safe, thereby enabling Loudcloud to quickly rebuild a customer's site in case of disaster.

"Obtaining Microsoft Gold AIP certification is a substantial achievement with rigorous competency requirements," said Enrique Fernandez-Laguilhoat, director of certified partner programs for Microsoft. "Microsoft is proud to include Loudcloud in the first group of AIP partners certified for this program. Loudcloud's operational excellence through defined processes and automation technology ensures our mutual end customers have a highly available, scalable, secured and controlled environment. Earning Microsoft Gold Certified status means Loudcloud has proven that they have the knowledge and practices established to assure the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction on Microsoft technology, with top-of-the-line operations, technologies, services, and solutions."
