X-box sales figures in Denmark (5 million inhabitants):

politiken.dk (danish)

Some excerpts:

"Sales of X-box don't live up to our most realistic expectations" says Robin Andersen, chief of acquisition in "Bog & Ide".

Dansk Supermarked, who is the largest supermarket in Denmark, is one of those selling Microsoft X-box in the supermarkets all over the country. To date, the total number of sold X-boxes is 100, nationwide. "We sell more Playstation 2 in a week than we have sold X-box'es in total."

No major shop we have talked to, have sold more than 10 X-boxes.

Things look different in small specialized gaming shops. Several game shop owners say, that they are satisfied with sales, but they could be higher. All point to the price for being the reason for the slow sales.

Microsoft Denmark do not think sales are slow in Denmark. They say that it's not a sprint but a marathon. Kristian Sveigaard from Microsoft Denmark says that they have no plans for lowering the price or to help those retailers that have large stocks of unsold X-boxes. "X-box has a good price" he says.

Dybdahl.
