Cary,

George Gilder may be a tech visionary but he was unable to warn his flock that his "Telecosm" stocks were in a bubble. PLDs may be wonderful, but with over 50% of sales going to the troubled communications segment, what assurance can you provide that valuations will not crumble in the aftermath of what is shaping up to be the greatest bubble of all time? If customers that account for a significant portion of sales are getting crushed, how will XLNX and ALTR escape the pain? It is all too common on Wall Street for babies to be carried out with the bath water. Might it be a bit early to get too enthused about these companies, in light of their relatively high present valuations and the precarious financial health of some of their major customers? Or alternatively, do you regard them as safe as your chip equipment "arms merchants"? If so, why?
