No DiViT, an effective remedy will prevent Microsoft from countering with the expected and obvious defense: deliberately redesigning Office to be incompatible with the latest Linux. Absent such an effective remedy, Microsoft will do this, as they always do when fighting their never-ending crusade against cross-platform compatibility, by adding new Office features that don't work on Linux. Then Linux will be modified to work with the latest Office, then Office will break itself on the new Linux, then Linux will be modified, ad infinitum. There is no way to argue that the net effect of this struggle against compatibility somehow benefits consumers. In fact, an Office-compatible Linux strongly supports the case that Microsoft's fight against innovation and free markets MUST be curtailed. Dave
