Tuesday April 09 04:29 PM EDT Levi Strauss To Cut Texas Jobs, Cheaper Labor Overseas dailynews.yahoo.com Levi Strauss has announced it will shut down six plants and cut 36 hundred workers around the nation in the next few months, 19 hundred of them in Texas alone. The Texas layoffs will occur in El Paso, Brownsville, San Benito and San Antonio. Levi's says it will move the plants' production overseas, where labor is cheaper. Its only U-S production will be done at two plants in San Antonio.
