He refers to "constitutional threats...", which is hard to disagree with, re: Nixon, and subsequent administrations that foster the trend towards an all-powerful central government. None more so that the current Bush II.

The dramatic issue isn't that Nixon was a Stalin ... it is that the early stages have similarities.

After all, it's either eternal vigilance, or "Morning in America" type gauze-filtered open-mouthed adoration, until the bill comes due for trillions of dollars and a knock on your door isn't far behind.
