If Abraham Lincoln was alive today, I believe he would agree that in 2002, without the Supreme Court, this country would devolve into chaos over controversial issues....as demonstrated in the 2000 election. The electorate is divided 50/50 on many crucial issues. There has to be a final word in order to keep the peace otherwise we would see gunfire in the streets on very contentious subjects.
