Terminology 101 Anti-Semetic....Pro-Arab, Pro Israel, Anti Israel, Pro Palestine, Anti-Palestine

The April 6th issue of the Economist had an article about Jewish influence on American politics. The Issue with Sharon on the Cover.

In the article they did say that Pat Robertson (And the Christian Coalition) were terribly Anti-Semetic and at the same same time very pro-Israel. (a neat contradiction) I think what this means is that Pat Robertson does not like the Jewish Religion but at the same time likes the Israelis in the ME over the Muslims.

When a posting that is critical of Israel is answered by another poster...the assumption is that the initial poster is anti Israel and at the the same time anti-Semetic. This may not at all be true.

A viewpoint could be pro Palestine and pro Israel at the same time. I would like to see both Israel and Palestine proper, but at the same time be very critical on how Israel achieves its objectives.

Likewise the terms anti-Arab, and anti Muslim should be used with caution. They may mean different things depending who it is spoken to.

In the Article it did mention that the most anti-Israel American President was George Bush Sr.

Now look at President Bush and Sharon...they immediately liked each other because Sharon signed on to fight terrorists.

Bush is thinking Osama and his friends.
Sharon is thinking Arafat and his friends.

We all speak English as a first language, but still so much gets lost in the the translation.
