Frequently Asked Questions

Q: "I cannot see the whole chart [my chart is incomplete, my chart starts at 12:30PM instead of 9:30AM]…"

A: This usually happens when the timings in the chart window are set incorrectly. There are three things to set – the local computer’s clock time and timezone, the eSignal Data Manager timezone, and the AMiGO chart window’s timings.

First close down eSignal, AMiGO and the eSignal Data Manager. Make sure your computer’s clock is set correctly and the timezone in it is set correctly for your timezone. Then start the eSignal Data Manager and make sure its Time (Data Menu, Time) is set to synchronize the computers clock and the time zone is set correctly. Now bring up AMiGO and open your chart window. Go into the Chart Properties and set the symbol properties timings to be the local times for the symbol you are trading. For example, if you are on the West coast of the USA and are using PST on your local computer and eSignal Data Manager Timezone but want to trade the NYSE stocks (9:30-16:00 EST), you would set the AMiGO Chart Window timings to be 6:30-13:00 which is the local time for the NYSE trading hours for you.

Note that the timings are based on your own computer’s time. If you are living on the West coast and have your computer set to PST and if you only want to see the regular trading hours on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), you will need to enter 6:30-13:00 as the trading hours in your Chart windows.

From the Getting Started with AMiGO Manual (included with the installation):

You can set each Chart window to have its own trading hours. Exchanges open and close at different times and some entities trade 24 hours but have "regular trading hours" and "extended trading hours". AMiGO allows you to pick the timings you want per chart window and all symbols you bring up in the chart window will only show the trades that happened within the specified timings.

Note that the timings are based on your own computer's time. If you are living on the West coast and have your computer set to PST and if you only want to see the regular trading hours on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), you will need to enter 6:30-13:00 as the trading hours in your Chart windows.

Also make sure the eSignal can show the charts - you also need to set up the Data Manager in eSignal to have the correct time zone as per eSignal instructions.
