OT:

Dear Jerome: This part is not correct:

"The African warriors of the ZULU and Dinka tribes , massed 30 to 100,000 troops at a time and also had a scorched earth policy."

There were only +/-40,000 Zulu troops in total, divided into 15 regiments. The only battle I recall that involved 40,000 troops was their last, in 1879, when they were defeated and scattered by the British.

The Dinka tribes did not have large, organized armies. In the teens of the 20th century a number of men from various Dinka tribes in the Bahr el Ghazal area became followers of a Dinka prophet called Arienhdit who said he could turn the bullets of the British to water. British:Dinka battles _might_ have approached 1,000 Dinka warriors. They lacked the military leadership, tactics (and training) of the Zulu, though.

Regards,

Lynn
