Hmmm, I think the cartoon wolf is named "Wily", as in "having wiles". A name full of irony, as he's habitually crushed each time he thinks he's hatched the perfect plan to kill the road runner.

Road Runner cartoons used to be shown as shorts prior to the main movie in theatres when I was a kid.
