Interesting questions. Central banks are obviously dumping gold because of global stability, including the abscence of inflation. Gold's value as a hedge against uncertainty is purely a historic tradition.

I believe $200 or less is possible, golds intrinsic value is minimal at best. I think the Canadian gold producers could be in big trouble over the next 20 years, look for rationalizing in the industry.

For the TSE 300, gold will hold back the index, but a steady interest rate policy should allow us to easily go over the 7000 mark shortly.
