To offset the series of creative writing you just posted (my propaganda counter went skyhigh,
but not one new trick, it is getting boring with all these copy cats) some "display information".
Handset displays are, these days, fully independent snip-snap modules, hooked up with
usually only 8 signals. More like a monitor + cable + desktop than earlier when the LCD display,
drivers, voltage inverter, temperature compensations,etc were "on the motherboard" and
the LCD display were a discrete component.
Smart, as it makes multiple vendors, multiple second sources, with compatible modules
but competing internal technologies and solutions possible.
Also smart because it decreases the amount of fingerpointing between the different
vendors when problems, as LCD displays are a kind of magic world, not just ones and
zeroes.
Especially smart with the future color displays in mind, much more magic involved and
far from a commodity, lots of incremental, competetive improvements.

PS. compared to a monitor+cable+desktop, the VGA card, at least the VGA memory, is in
the monitor, not the desktop.
PPS I know many Los Hollywood guys still freely steal from old Bunuel and are considered
"contemporary creative", must be something similar with the copy-cat propaganda writers,
they too frustrated after early dreams of writing poetry and literary master pieces,
revealing the unknown evil amongst us, after receiving deep voices on the phone??
