There are many factors to consider, one is that the people of forestry communities take a proprietary interest in surrounding timberlands on which their livelihood is based, they know that if access to that wood was cut off through either predatory pine lobby outbidding or direct fiat of Washington they would lose all source of income and soon lose their community .... you can tell them all day and all night that the land is crown provincial, commons of all citizens of BC, doesn't matter, they know what happens when they are cut off from it

Another factor - we may look much like US nationals, speak with similar accents, participate in quite connected culture and media etc, we may have many friends and family across the line, but we are absolutely not the same, we are a distinct people and we value highly our independence from direct control of the elite who rule your nation

Bottom line - GFY John Ragosta, and GFY all other tools of the various capos ... we are free for a reason - because Brock, Brant, Sherbrooke, Tecumseh, de Salaberry and many others stood up and defended this country in time of threat, they too were all outnumbered, but they would not kneel to Washington
