I'm sure the sales will be very disappointing, when scores of consumers realize that they will only achieve frame rates shy of 90 fps on their favorite games. <ggg> On the brighter side, though, it appears that Intel has optimized the timings on their new chipset. pcpop.com.cn In office apps, it seems to outperform the new SiS 645DX PC2700 chipset (as well as the RDRAM based i850) and in content creation, it comes pretty close to each of the above. In previous tests back in January when the i845 launched, it had seriously underperformed all other competitive chipsets. It's nice to see the tables turning, even though the integrated graphics aren't outstanding (like they really need to be <g>). wbmw P.S. I wonder how many people are going to respond to "remind" me that the average consumer "insists" at running higher end games than Quake III, and that they must all run at high resolution with all features turned on - and that nothing less will do for Dick and Jane Consumer. ;-)
