OT [JDSU] products will never become commodities

Why not? Or even worse, what will prevent them from becoming obsolete? Optical networking is such a young and attractive field that it will continue to attract lots of engineering graduates, some of whom will want to capitalize on their new ideas by starting new companies. Will JDSU be able to buy them the way it formerly did when its stock was soaring? Legacy dominance can become a handicap in a rapidly changing landscape. Will JDSU be able to retain its highly compensated optical engineers with penny stock options? I'm not so sure they are impregnable to competition. Entry barriers could fall.
