I guess hypocrisy bothers me slightly less then it does you. Not that I like it but really bad social engineering by those who argue for heavy government involvement bothers me less then indifferent social engineering by people who usually argue that government should leave us alone.

As for keeping the government off of your backs I agree with the idea, but if you are taking government money (through welfare or some other program) then you are getting the government involved in your life.

What do you think about welfare requiring recipients to make an effort to get a job, or to have a low paying job (low paying because other wise the person's income is too high to qualify for welfare) or such similar "workfare" or "welfare reform" programs? Is this social engineering?
