It must have been horribly disorienting to have one's faith conclusively disproven. Nonetheless when you get used to prevarication, as most communists did, it's not too hard to overlook reality and keep going the same direction despite evidence to the contrary. I guess if I had sacrificed for an ideology and the ideology failed, I would likewise be inclined to stubbornly hold on to the fallen faith I had long embraced.

Well... in spite of many dismissing Ayn Rand as a lunatic... there is a lot of sound ideas to draw from.

Never one must be a fanatic (of any side). One uses the ideas of others and apply them with measure to life.

Like a good quarter back. One learns the plays and tactics by heart according to a specific sequence... but if the defense seems to have read your play, then one must have the ability to change the play on the line and improvise accordingly.

As for the religious dogmas... well... to me, (and with the exception of those who keep their respective religions to themselves and simply believe without the preaching which is fine by me)... all religious preachers have a problem, they are lunatics in search of an audience. Their theme is fear, lies, guilt and sacrifice.

I have no time for their agenda.
