I was just thinking a bit as I was doing some stretching (like Rambi). I wonder what the rest of the internet world thinks? I mean, here is a country, the United States, with every reason to stand proud before the world for what it has, and for what defines its character. And what do American citizens do in order to demonstrate the moral qualities which they so value before the world? Well, in a way it is more instructive to examine what they do not do--at least not often, or well enough.
Occasionally they neglect to teach their children to call their highest representatives "scumbags"? And sometimes they forget to praise their children when they call other children "demolib pinheads", "scum bags, etc.--or if they do remember to praise, it is often as an afterthought and without the moral weight of sincere feeling. One wonders if the children are not being insufficiently instructed and reinforced. How are they to learn the "right"?
It is sad when a great nation is no longer able to consistently nurture their children to hate their leaders and their families. It used to be that when children favoured a different political party or structure than the parents, they would be called "scumbags" and "pinheads"...and sent out to rot. More and more, however, it appears that some parents exempt their children from this felicitous treatment. Where is it leading? I don't know.
The rest of the world is quickly developing a respectable educational system which rewards prejudice and hate in all sorts of modern ways. Even in Canada, if any child refuses to call the leader of their highest office a "scumbag", they are sent to Reform School. Not surprisingly, eventually the kids DO get it right. It just requires a firm stance against tolerance, a bit of moral fiber, and a committment to contemporary standards.
America is quickly falling behind the modern wave of hate and violence. They need to step things up a bit. The kids need to know who the scumbags and the pinheads are; and they need to know it fast...while they are still young enough to assimilate and to internalize principled and righteous ideas.
