E-commerce sales leap 41% (from marketwatch.com)
First-quarter retail sales over the Internet leaped 41% to an estimated $11.6 billion vs. the same period a year ago, according to BizRate.com, an e-commerce research firm.

"Unmistakably, the online sales growth is up and accelerating," said Chuck Davis, CEO of Los Angeles-based BizRate.com. Davis said both the number of sales and the average transaction increased this year, with 91 million purchases compared to 68 million, and $127 per transaction vs. 2001's $120.
