Chancery Judge Orders Deutsche Deposition In Hewlett Suit PALO ALTO , Calif. -(Dow Jones)- A Delaware Chancery Court judge ordered Deutsche Bank investment adviser Dean Barr to give a deposition in the lawsuit contesting Hewlett-Packard Co .'s (HWP) planned merger with Compaq Computer (NYSE: CPQ - news) Corp. (CPQ), legal documents say. Deutsche Bank had previously been "unable to assure us" Barr would grant a deposition, according to a letter submitted to the court Friday by an attorney for dissident board member Walter Hewlett. Hewlett opposes the merger and has asked the court to overturn a proxy vote narrowly approving the $19 billion combination. In a suit filed last month, he argues that H-P management inappropriately induced Deutsche Bank to switch its vote on more than 17 million shares at the last minute to favor the merger.
