Totally agree. Somehow, we are totally dominated by these foreign adventures, making them more important than our own issues.

We have a lack of trust in government, an attitude domestically and abroad that "money buys solutions", and that the key goal of every government-related transaction is how to transfer cash from the citizens into someone else's hands, oddly enough it's usually the person who's talking to you.

This crap is in Israel's attitude, it is in the rest of the world. An interview in Columbia before Bush visited Latin America was asking "what do you think of the visit", and the answer was, "well, IT DEPENDS ON WHAT HE IS BRINGING. IF IT ISN'T VERY MUCH THEN I DON'T THINK MUCH OF IT".

WE ARE FRIGGIN' PATSIES TO THE WORLD.

And we, the working taxpaying, voting, SI-posting, thinking, arguing, laughing, citizens are the patsies to the rest of those who see government as their gravy train.

THAT INCLUDES THE POLITICIANS AND PROFITEERS INFESTING WASHINGTON DC IN CONGRESS AND THE ADMINISTRATION FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.

Ever spend any time in DC?
I enjoyed a few months there, starting a broadband internet business. Loved the history, buildings, incredibly smart people, news events, etc. The funny part? I could go to a different banquet every night, with the best shrimp and steak, meet all kinds of think-tank types, spooks, irrelevent pols and wanna-bes, and never have to buy a dinner. Its so entirely overrun with the $2 trillion in taxpayer money leaking out everywhere, that that's what everyone there thinks they are supposed to be doing: SPENDING TAXPAYER MONEY AS FAST AS THEY CAN.

Solution: cut out the money. The solutions will magically appear, in the form of actual, motivated, sincere, public-minded citizens who work for people, instead of the Bush Inc. attitude that the people work for them.

As it was in the beginning of the Republic, it should be now, without the huge secret backchannel illegal spook-driven mil-indust cash flow...
