We discussed the fetal stem cell issue last year and we discussed human cloning when last it was an issue. I recall that there was no one here who favored the reproductive cloning of humans. Therapeutic cloning seemed to split out into sides that paralleled the sides on abortion.

Personally, I have some appreciation for the pro-life side on abortion although I don't agree with it. Objection to therapeutic cloning, OTOH, is totally beyond my ken. Seems utterly flat-earth to me.

We've managed to discuss those subjects here before without getting mired in religion. There are some out there, I understand, who object to cloning for reasons other than excessive regard for the humanity of an embryo, the same folks who object to genetically altered corn. I don't recall any discussion of the objections from other than the pro-lifers. Was any of that covered in the show you saw? I don't know much about their objections.
