No excuses for terrorism. Kissinger is right. However so are you regarding settlements. Remember Barak/Clinton and who backed out. Settlements might not all have gone away but in time would have ceased being an issue as the palestinians got on with nation building. In the end, if there is to ever be peace, 2 or 3% of the land which has 80% of the settlements will be incorporated into israel while other adjustments will be made in the pals favor. Still doesnt alter the fact that settlements were bad policy--just takes into account facts on the ground.
One question--am i wrong in thinking that first settlements were seen as subtle pressure on the arab nations to make peace? I believe so. To bad Saudi proposal wasnt ready in 1970. Arabs are good at making proposal 30 years after the facts should have been dealt with. Now new facts on the ground every day. mike
