Zeev, you mentioned that the Palestinians think that time is on their side and that is a false impression. In the years I've lived and worked overseas, that is certainly one of the major cultural differences between Americans and many middle eastern and Asian cultures. Consequently, on any negotiation it was important to come up with a reason that time was not on their side. Whether it was a negotiation for a big contract or just buying a $15 silver bracelet, they needed a reason to move quickly other than it made sense to finish the negotiations and go on.

Perhaps Israel needs to lay out a roadmap of negotiations to peace in which if certain milestones aren't met there will be clearly defined repercussions. But of course, the world no doubt would not look favorable on that. But otherwise, maybe time is on the Palestinian's side.
