While the Jenin Battlefield is 'cooling' many of the bodies have been removed by the IDF --> they wanted to bury them in mass graves but their own Israeli Supreme Court has prevented that (according to CNN this morning all bodies must now be given back to the families or to The Red Cross)....A cover-up could be under way since Journalists and International Humanitarian Groups are not allowed to have complete access to Janin (almost 10 days after the IDF Military efforts shifted into high gear)...I hope we have the CIA doing some investigating --> Bush needs to know what one of our larger allies may have done...The U.S. international credibility could be on the line. Ideally Bush and Powell should motivate Sharon to do what they asked him to do over a week ago --> and thats to completely withdraw from the occupied territories and show some good will...This would also help to start to diffuse some of Israel's mounting tensions with the Arab states that are their neighbors.

The U.S. should call for an independent UN investigation into what may have happened in Jenin...I wonder how much leverage we really have over Israel...? Last time I checked we still wrote a check for over $3 Billion each year...GW's father was probably the last U.S. President to successfully take some tough stands with Israel...I firmly believe that the immediate withdrawal of IDF forces is in Israel's best interest.
