I posted the article on soy more for the point about government micromanagement and the influence of industry groups than for the benefits of soy.

I keep soy milk in the house. I find it convenient and tasty. For someone who grocery shops for one, it's nice to have a product that is shelf stable before opening and lasts a while after opening. I don't ever have to think about running out of milk, especially when it snows. I use soy milk on cereal and for cooking. I'm not likely to switch back. I also keep frozen soybeans around for snacks. I like tofu, but I don't cook it. I hate to cook, so when I do, it's going to be something with more pizzazz than tofu. But I do eat tofu in restaurants.

It seems reasonable to me that soy milk be available as part of school menus.
