Regardless of the strategic value of reducing PFE's ownership of LGND stock, I believe management would take the cash if they didn't see a larger alternative source nearish-term.. Management of a company with LGND's burn rate has to worry continually about short term viability. The greatest pipeline in the world would have to get sold off at firesale prices if the company entered a cash crunch. So, as I noted a while back concerning the hiring "bubble," there must be a deal in the works. ...Of course, it could be another secondary offering that's in the works.... Earl
