Wrong. Bush and Enron were 100% co-joined. Bush flew in Ken Lay's private jet during the campaign. Enron gave Bush millions and raised millions more. They were best buddies for years. Never before has a corporation been so closely involved with a major campaign like this. Enron practically worked for the Bush campaign and the circle of cronies were the ones who organized the great phony energy crisis. After the election Bush named at least three Enron executives to the White House. Enron and company ruled. And let's not forget the other culprits; James Baker, Duke, Cheney's Haliburton, Bush Sr's buddies at Chevron and in Saudi Arabia, Williams, El Paso, Dysegy (sp?), Reliant. This is the inner circle that put Bush-Cheney in power by creating the greatest artificial energy crisis in history. In the process they ripped off some 50 billion from American consumers then waged a huge disinformation campaign to cover up their deeds. If not for 9/11 this would be the #1 issue now.

As for Bush's current high popularity, his father was very popular during the Gulf War too. Like a mirror image really. They can go from 80% to 45% very quickly because in the end "it's the economy stupid". Anyone can wage a war with a clear enemy. Hell, the pentagon itself was hit. Don't think the military was motivated? All Bush needed to do was give the word, and that was a no-brainer. But look at how he's been screwing up ever since on foreign policy. OK, it's a complicated world but do you have any faith in him when it comes to foreign policy? The instence we attack Iraq was premature and isolating. SHould have kept that under wraps not pre-announced it.

So both Bushes deserved credit for kicking some naughty Arabs out of a small country (though the military itself deserves most of the credit) but that is not enough to win a second term, especially with a major scandal that's yet to become full-blown and a lousy recessionary economy where no one gets rich except some in the defence industry.

As the war on terror wanes (And it will because no crucial ally wants us to go into Iraq so we cannot yet, if ever), then the economy will become that main issue again, that and the Bush-Cheney energy scandals.

When Americans realize that the tax cuts helped the rich but doomed us to four years of recession and higher government debt they will not be happy with GW. And why should they be? He lied to the American people afterall. No one could rival Clinton's economic success. Apart from the dot-bomb collapse, when it ain't broke don't try to fix it. Clinton's policies worked.

Furthermore, if GW's education policies don't work out he won't have a leg left to stand on. He claims not to leave a child behind but it's all meaningless rhetoric unless is actually functions. Also crime rates are starting to rise due to unemployment and that could spark fires in the cities by next year. Bush Sr had his LA riots. Bush Jr. might have some trouble there too. And that is very disturbing.

Because Bush is weak in every other area he's better hope his main issues please the US voters. These are tax cuts, energy, education and Star Wars/military. Which ones will he succeed with by 2003-2004? Forget about Star Wars, the environment/energy he's already been exposed on, tax cuts went through but haevn't helped yet (if ever, and may be hurting) and edcucation the jury is out on still.

Once the terror war wanes, energy/economy will be the main issue again. That means Enron as the poster boy for the Bush legacy.

Do you want Cheney to release his energy papers? Do you want to find out how much Enron and Company were in bed with B-C and how they schemed to manipulate our futures, pollute our environment and gouge consumers? If so, write your congressman. Keep the heat on.
