The chinese community here has been quite self-critical on chinese-only signs in Richmond, Ming Pao came out strongly against them, here's one article touching on that - goldsea.com

Never bothered me, i figure it's local colour and the sort of thing that will regulate itself, call it 'the invisible tongue' maybe -g- ... it's a shopkeeper's right to put any sign he likes, or no sign at all, it's his shop ... back to Solon's excellent joke - 'Chaim, he would teach us business ... '

Québec dictates french-only signs ... this is wrong, simply not the business of the state, punto
