LOL! You and I are very much alike. Isn't it interesting how we all get used to a particular product/procedure and thoroughly resist changing?

FWIW -

I started out using Lotus 1-2-3 daily at work in the mid 1980s and, over the years, developed quite a few fairly complex "standard" Lotus spreadsheets for use by department of over 400 people. Many of those spreadsheets contained hundreds of macros and menus to make them more "user friendly", often taking many months to develop.

Then the company removed Lotus 1-2-3 from their standard software list and switched to Microsoft Office, which I could legally take home and install on my home computer (I called Microsoft and asked then). Then, for quite some time, I refused to use Excel because I was used to Lotus 1-2-3 (particularly Lotus the macro language). After eventually "caving in" I found Excel to be far superior to the last version of Lotus 1-2-3 I had used and now I wouldn't even consider going back to Lotus.

I, like you, used to use Lotus, and then Excel to analyze all kinds of data related to mutual fund and stock transactions.....particularly my own investments. Then I started using Quicken in late 1992 and loaded every single mutual fund/stock transaction (including commissions) into three separate Quicken accounts to emulate three real live brokerage accounts. One advantage is that I can transfer all transactions for a given year to TurboTax every year within seconds and have my federal AND state taxes completed and printed out within about an hour! Believe me, EVERY single way you would likely want to see or analyze your data can be done in Quicken. Then you can create a customized report (with a unique name) for each type of analysis. For my money, Quicken is absolutely the most valuable software I have installed on my machine!
