| Kids pick up stuff so fast .... a couple i know here adopted two kids, they built a place in the Baja [on a hill called Colina Gringa-g-], and the first time they spent time there it was just the woman and the five-year-old, one of the locals mentioned that he would be welcome at the kinder, so she took him down one morning, he liked the idea but had a hard time understanding, no other anglos present, so at noon he came straight out to her, not real happy, said let's go home ... next day he just ate lunch with her at the edge of the yard and went back in for the afternoon .... on the third or fourth day, she couldn't find him right off, he was out back in a circle of eight or ten kids, chattering away in spanish and teaching them english as a trade, he asked could he go home with his friend, and after the mothers got together, he did |
