Actually, only moderate activity is associated with increased lifespan. If gold medal winning had a correlation to longevity, you'd expect marathon runners would live longer than regular walkers. They don't.

Athletics (motor intelligence) is, unlike the stereotype, correlated with intellectual intelligence. It is more likely that it reflects the ability to train the mind that we see in athletic ability that is correlated with intelligence. You need both.
